GRANT OF ADHOC RELIEF ALLOWANCE-2023 @ 35% OF BASIC PAY AS ON 30.06.2023 TO THE CIVIL SERVANTS OF PUNJAB GOVERNMENT IN BS-1 TO BS-16 &@30% OF BASIC PAY AS ON 30.06.2023 TO THE CIVIL SERVANTS IN BS-17 TO BS-22 AND INCREASE IN PENSION @17.5% TO PENSIONERS  

 Punjab Adhoc Relief Allowance 2023 will be admissible on running Basic pay the notification read.

The Punjab Government employees finally get their rights like given to Federal government, Sindh Government, KPK Government and Baluchistan Government However this will come in effect from August means that there will be no arrears for the month of July.

Secretary Finance Department briefed the Cabinet that Government of Punjab had allocated Rs. 352.00 billion as Salary Budget for a period of four months (July-October) during the FY 2023-24 (Rs. 158.40 billion at Provincial Level + Rs. 193.6 billion under PFC share) against the RES of Rs. 941.00 billion during LFY. A sum of Rs. 117.40 billion had also been allocated for Pensioners for a period of four months (July-October) during FY 2023-24 against RES of Rs. 325.630 billion.

The Cabinet was further apprised that the Caretaker Provincial Cabinet in its meeting held on 19.06.2023 approved Adhoc Relief Allowance@ 30% of initial basic pay of Pay Scales 2022 for all employees in BS-1 to BS-22. Annual financial implication in this regard was Rs. 87.99 billion and Pension increase @ 5% to the pensioners up to the age of 80 years and 20% increase to the pensioners above the age of 80 years.

10.3 Accordingly, in pursuance of the directions of the Chief Minister the Cabinet was requested to consider and approve to grant the Adhoc Relief Allowance and Pension increase on the analogy of Federal Government-w.e.f. 01.08.2023 as under:

i) BPS-1 to 16 @35% of Basic Pay as on 30.06.2023

ii) BPS-17 to 22 @30% of Basic Pay as on 30.06.2023 

17.5% increase in pension. However, 5% increase in pension of retired government employees / civil pensioners upto 80 years of age and 20% increase to retired government employees/civil pensioners who are over 80 years of age on 01.07.2023 which was granted vide this Department's circular letter referred to above will be withdrawn w.e.f. 01.08.2023. Moreover, the increase in the pension @17.5% shall not be admissible to those pensioners who retire on or a fter 01.08.2023
